This is slightly better video of the LIDAR service. I set it up and walked in front of it (you can see my legs in the LIDAR graph.  I'm still having issues making screencasts, so this is as good as I can get for now. I'll keep looking for better software (BTW this was made using recordItNow using encoder RecordMyDesktop at 32 FPS)  The LIDAR scan only updates every second (which is why I showed the python code with the sleep(1) command). The LIDAR can update readings at about 75Hz, so I'm not coming close to maxing out the hardware withthat user code.
