GroG:
Ok Matthew, nice talking to you. see you around |
Matthew:
Well I'm going to head out. I may be back later if I get time tonight to work on stuff. |
Matthew:
oops, http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/kit-of-parts |
Matthew:
Here's the link to the Kit webpage if you're interested. |
Matthew:
yeah. I was always fascinated by the "swerve drive" drive trains too. You get a kit of standard parts which is like motors, electronics, and pneumatics. Then there is a rule book of what you can't use. Then there is a total $$ limit on the bot. |
GroG:
the bases, aluminum stock, and gears often look very similar in FIRST - is there a list of parts you can get - how do they manage materials? or is it a big free for all ? |
GroG:
this one looked pretty good -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2KJlICN_KE |
GroG:
Ya I can imagine the stress |
Matthew:
That's one reason why I was attracted by it now. I never had time to get into the software of it back then. I was too busy trying to get the robot physically designed/built in 6 weeks |
Matthew:
No. We didn't have a programmer. We had one mentor who sort of did IT work I think. I wish we could have. There was just no one to do it. |
