It's a pretty good example of the difference between

foo = 1

and 

if (foo == 1)  ...

the first is variable assignement,  the second is a boolean evaluation..

Fortunately for me there are at least a few similarities between all these many languages. (I just made the pic smaller. It was taking up half a page.)
