First attempt at a sealed conductive compression cylinder..... this time hollowed out the 3M earplug..awaiting it to dry before i can test....."twiddles thumbs".

I wanted to make a blind encapsulated print but choose plan "B" instead... there is no harm in a tube of glue....(development glue)

Update 5 minutes later :- Nylon screws will be used...whoops

Fingertip sensors?  Or is this yet another different project of the vast array of diversified Swiss elvish endevours ?

Your previous fingertips mystified me as to how the finger jaw mechanism worked,  I thought (too model touch) that a layer of foam around a metal core could be a possiblity (like it appears you have going on here) .. but the "chamber" would have to be lined with the copper foil .. am I foiled in my thinking?

That Galvanized screw should be a Nylon screw.... only i stashed them somewhere..... shouts "Elves..fetch"

However the idea with lining the inside wall would also work... I just had some sticky-back Copper to line the sensors as it a good interface with the conductive foam.

This sensor is for my Hackaday entry .... as i need a sensor that works when you pull rather than push.
