I prepared a new NIRcam for my Plantoid studies... after wrecking 2 webcam lenses I managed to properly remove the IR filter and calibrated the lens... while testing this new NIRcam I played with some opencv filters and finally captured these images which I wanted to share with you here... it is night here and the plant is illuminated only with an IR led array which i made for this purpose...

this is the opencv widget of the plant under IR light... no filters...

this fancy pic is using opencv HSV filter ...

this one is with opencv NOT filter... it is interesting because it closely resembles NDVI images which are constructed with complex processes showing plant activity (photosythesis action) by IR imaging...  Now I will try to monitor the plant with this filter day and night for a while to see any differences...

Great post Borsaci

I would think HSV might be a useful filter for you and DJ, because it attempts to break the reflected light into a more stable Hue versus the RGB combination which most images are encoded in.

Hue is tolerant of ambient light changes & shadows versus RGB encoding.

For color tracking items I usually use HSV before doing an InRange filter.

Keep up the great work !
