Although the stock lens is sharp ..... it lacks that spycam aspect.......
There are loads of fixed lenses out there ... however nothing beats a good zoom lens.

With a direct drive 2 coil Iris for adjusting light levels
I made a custom 3D printed adaptor.... version 2 :-
The direct drive Iris has a drive coil and a damping coil.
By default the Iris is closed (so no power .....no lens) ... Its a simple job to open the Iris by applying 6 to 16volt signal (@35mA)... That opens the Iris "Wide" .... I plan to PWM the 2 coils for better control.
The Zoom and Focus rings will be easy to automate ... however I am clueless how an auto-focus system works....
Really looks sharp Gareth
How fast (FPS) is the raspi cam ?
Difficult Question ......SD dependant
Hmmm you need the fastest SD out there if you want good fps. (ie vga 90fps)
Qoute :- Prior to March 2014, video mode did not use the full sensor area (only a 1920x1080 center crop), and there was no video mode faster than 30 fps. With new firmware as of March 18 2014the camera has a full-sensor 2x2 binned video mode, and also can do 640 x 480 up to 90 fps.
I have noticed that my cheap ebay cards do stutter a bit so the faster the better....
Qoute :- SD card class. The card class determines the sustained write speed for the card; a class 4 card will be able to write at 4MB/s, whereas a class 10 should be able to attain 10 MB/s.
CS Drive lens
Have you managed to do anything with the DC Iris drive?
There's a metric tonne of great cheap CS-mount lenses and they work perfectly with a pi hq cam, but absolutely no projects to drive the iris from the pi
